Duties and Responsibilities:
The research supervisor will execute the following activities:-
Develop proposal for mega projects in HIV research, seek budget for execution
Assist survey and surveillance team in dissemination of survey and surveillance results in reputable journals.
Assist survey and surveillance team in applying for competitive research grant
Coordinate and manage HIV/AIDS surveys
Handle safely with great care all necessary documents and records
Able to work off working hours, weekends and holidays
Able to spend 50% of his/her time on travel for field activities,
Duration of work: 6 months with possible extension
Location: The candidate will be stationed at EPHI National HIV reference Laboratory
Job Requirement
PHD in Health related field with 2 years’ experience in related field with 2 years’ experience in related field
And MPH in public health with 5 years or above experience in related field.
Ensure epidemiologic survey and surveillance activities are conducted according to accepted standards and protocols.
Provide epidemiologic advice and technical support on protocol designing and implementation of HIV and related disease survey and surveillance activities.
Participate in preparation of survey and surveillance training material and train and supervise EPHI data collection teams as appropriate.
Prepare and provide standard quarterly report for the team leader and finally write and present major findings under scheduled dissemination activities of the institute.
Prepare and submit technical report of major finding of national survey and surveillance activates.
Good Clinical Practice and/or Good laboratory practice
Desirable:
Experience in monitoring HIV/AIDS prevention, control, care and support programs
Experience in working for PEPFAR and/or USAIDS funded projects or non-governmental organization
