Duty Station: Addis Ababa and frequent travel to the field
The Role Summary:
The Barely Chain Development Project Manager is responsible to ensure effective delivery of the value chain development projects through provision of high quality overall management of project cycle from designing, planning, implementation, monitoring & evaluation, to documentation of project results and learning. Manage the overall implementation of the value chain development project including project planning and budgeting, identifying and maintaining direct contacts with partners, monitoring and supporting partners in project implementation
The Person:
· Lead and upgrade Habesha Breweries’ malt barley value chain strategy and projects
· Ensure timely implementation malt barley value chain strategy and objectives
· Advice project team on the projects in relation to malt barley and malt technology.
· Undertake regular field visit and supervision
· Follow up the progress of malt barley production, aggregation and quality
· Technically support stakeholders (farmers, Agronomists)
· Facilitate agronomic activities
Experience
· Minimum of 8 years relevant experience with agronomy
· Minimum of 2 year management experience in leading a team of professionals
· Background knowledge and skilled in malt barley and malt technology
· Sufficient seniority and credibility to advice project team on the projects in relation to malt barley and malt technology.
Knowledge
· Completed university degree in Agriculture , Agricultural Economics and other
related fields
· The ability to organize, lead and build trust with team and stakeholders.
· Good knowledge and techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling
programs
· Skilled in aligning different stakeholders and creating value for each stakeholder in a value chain
· Strong interpersonal and relationships management skills
· Fluent command of English both written and spoken
· Excellent command of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
