GOAL has been working in Ethiopia since 1984 implementing a range of multi-sectoral development, resiliency and humanitarian responses. GOAL Ethiopia is currently working with street children, pastoralists and rural small holders and responds to humanitarian crises in Ethiopia by working closely with local communities, local government and other key actors with a strong emphasis on resiliency, preparedness and longer term impacts. GOAL Ethiopia's major funders are USAID, OFDA, ECHO, BPRM, Irish Aid and UNOCHA.
ABOUT THE ROLE
GOAL Ethiopia is looking for a competent, motivated, experienced Emergency Livestock Officer will work closely with grassroots staff including Community Development Workers and other technical Staffs. Additionally he/she will be expected to contribute inputs to the development of new projects, suggest ways for improvement on future projects designing and implementation based on his/her observations and experiences at field.
ABOUT YOU
You'll be an experienced Emergency Livestock Officer and responsible for responsible for directly implementing and monitoring Livelihoods Project activities, with support from Field office Programme Manager.
Desirable qualities, Skills and Competences: · Flexible and creative approach highly motivated and able to take the initiative and work unsupervised. · Highly motivated and able to work independently; · Accountability & responsiveness within areas of responsibilities · Demonstrable ability to encourage and motivate staff and develop teamwork. · Proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with local government organisations and NGOs. · Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written, and knowledge of local language (Orommifa) is mandatory. · Excellent report writing ability · Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel · Able to speak Oromifa: Background from/familiarity to Borena.
Remuneration & Benefits:
Birr 8,342.00/month Transportation Allowance - 10% of monthly salary. Medical Allowance - Birr 6500/annum (will be added in your monthly salary) Hardship Allowance – 30% of monthly salary Pension – 11 % from the employer and 7 % from the employee
