BASIC FUNCTIONS
Overseeing the manufacturing process and make sure the production lines are running smoothly and efficiently. Working closely with shift leaders, supervisors and maintenance team for planning, setting the targets and making sure the finished products meet quality standards. Making right and quick decisions in liaise with Plant manager. Developing new methods utilize resource like machine, material and man power to meet the organizational goals while remaining within the budget limitations.
ü Overseeing the production process, drawing up a production schedule.
ü Ensuring that the production is cost effective.
ü Making sure that products are produced on time and are of good quality.
ü Working out the human and material resources needed.
ü Drafting a timescale for the job.
ü Estimating costs and setting the quality standards.
ü Monitoring the production processes and adjusting schedules as needed.
ü Being responsible for the selection and maintenance of equipment.
ü Monitoring product standards and implementing quality-control programmers.
ü Liaising among different departments, e.g. suppliers, managers.
ü Working with managers to implement the company's policies and goals.
ü Ensuring that health and safety guidelines are followed
ü Supervising and motivating a team of workers.
ü Reviewing worker performance.
ü Identifying training needs.
ü Involving in the pre-production (planning) stage as well as the production (control and supervision) stage.
ü Integrating with other functions, such as marketing, sales and finance.
ü Working closely with planners, controllers, production engineers and production supervisors.
ü Determining the machines, the number of manpower’s to be used and the production sequence to achieve maximum
ü Developing budgets, approving expenditures for supplies and materials and reviewing production orders for accuracy.
ü Developing production schedules and duty assignments, making strategic decisions as necessary to alter programs when time or budget limitations are reached
ü Supervising and mentoring a direct – report staff
ü Hiring, training, evaluating and discharging workers
ü Cross training worker teams for maximum production flexibility
ü Monitoring all stage of production, analyzing current methods and developing new ways to save steps, time and materials in order to reduce costs.
ü Work with procurement staff, parts and materials vendors or individual’s workers to bring quality back up standards.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
Ø Experience of managing a team in a production environment
Ø ‘Hands on’ engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
Ø Proven record of identifying innovative technical solutions
Ø Quantifiable evidence of reducing production costs
Ø Experience of building strong working relationships with all stakeholders both internally and externally
Ø Working knowledge of management principles including finance, health & safety, quality assurance, human resources etc
Ø Evidence of continuous professional and personal development
Ø Ability to handle responsibility and the pressure of meeting deadlines
