In Ethiopia, CRS has a long and rich history of providing emergency relief and development assistance to the people of Ethiopia since 1958. At present, CRS/Ethiopia implements multiple projects through different partner organizations. CRS/Ethiopia has a highly diverse portfolio ranging from very large food-supported emergency response to cutting edge development programs. The current CRS/Ethiopia budget stands at $100 million with funding from the U.S. Government, UN agencies, private foundations, individual donors, and CRS private funds.

I. Purpose of the Position:
To receive CRS food commodities to safeguard with proper handling.
To dispatch CRS food commodities to different CRS partners, according the allocation and relying to the CRS dispatching procedure.
To ensure the warehouses in his/her custody is well cleaned and secured with the compliance of CRS procedure,
To inspect the quality and quantity of commodities during receiving, dispatching and stored in the warehouses
To submit accurate commodity movement report on daily bases to Commodity accountants;
2. Key /Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Warehouse Management
Ensures that the warehouse is kept clean at all times, checks that it is free from rodents, birds and other insects;
In receiving CRS/food first checks the Op. No., makes sure that the food is destined to CRS before offloading;
Counts the number of bags, cartons and drums while offloading, against the waybills and note the discrepancy if any in the receipt;
Ensures proper stacking of commodities on pallets based on CRS warehouse manual;
Checks the condition of the food before having its stacked. Sort and segregate if spoiled, damaged or torn containers of food are seen, keep track of reconditioning activities very closely;
Prepares the Goods Receiving Notes carefully and accurately and have the transporter/driver sign on it;
Makes sure to sign both on the waybill and Commodity Receipt Form to acknowledge the receipt and note remarks if any;
Summarizes daily receipt and dispatch report accurately and submits it to the commodity clerk every morning;
Checks for possible infestation every day and reports to the office immediately to get fumigation service;
Posting and Recording
Posts the receipts and dispatches on the bin cards, daily;
Ensures that bin cards are put on respective stacks and balance quantities stated on bin
cards are equal to the stack;
Dispatching of Commodities
Dispatches food commodity by receiving the dispatch note from the dispatcher;
When dispatching makes sure that the containers are intact. (no spillage or leakage);
Ensure the truck inspection form completed before loading of the commodities.
Handling Commodity Loss
Prepares and fill out commodity loss form/ LAR at times when there is a warehouse or transport loss;
Record any spillage collected in warehouse in the Bin cards
Preparing Report
Prepares daily report and submits to Warehouse Controller or Commodity Accountant;
Supervisory Role
Supervise the activities and performance management of the Assistant Warehouse Keeper, when Assistant requires;
Performs other related duties as required.
College Diploma in a relevant field
3.2. Experience:
2 years of relevant experience is required
Excellent knowledge of CRS/ET’s inventory management policies and procedures
Excellent knowledge of coding and classifications methods
Ability to prepare Bin card for all items in the warehouse
Ability to prepare concise statistical inventory reports
Skill in the use of computer and S/W related to the job
