Aged and Children Pastoralists Association (ACPA) is a local organization established in 2008 by a group of Pastoral intellectuals and registered with the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia with Reg. No: 0358. It aims to support all marginalized pastoralists and mainly “Ageing and Children” to improve their economic growth potentiality to overcome livelihood demands. Among the thematic areas of ACPA includes livelihood, climate change adaptation, education, WASH and emergency interventions. Presently ACPA does it is head office in Addis Ababa and operational offices in Siti, Fafan, Dawa and Liben (Southern Hub) and Dollo zones of Somali Region of Ethiopia;
.Assist in identifying the environmental vulnerabilities related to natural and man-made hazards
• Assist in strengthening the networking on disaster risk reduction in the region to support the development of pilot projects and programmes to ensure an increased resilience to natural disasters in selected areas
• Organize and participate in workshops, meetings, conferences, and consultations with other agencies and/or other partners
• Collect best practices and support their dissemination through appropriate distribution mechanisms
• Liaise with other partners in areas of potential complementarity, particularly with regard to climate change adaptation
• Support in the prompt response to emerging environmental disasters in the region.
• Liaise with government and partner’s active in the field of disaster management.
• Attend Cluster meetings and contribute to Situation Reports
• Develop TOR for field assessment teams and assist logistical arrangements
• Assist field assessment teams with relevant desk studies and research on secondary data
• Assist in writing of environmental assessment reports
• Participate in the development of post-crisis environmental recovery programmes in the region
• Monitor and analyze programme development and implementation and review relevant documents and reports
• Provide support to ongoing post-crisis programmes.
• Organize and participate in workshops, meetings, conferences, and consultations with other agencies and/or other partners
• Prepare draft documents and other relevant documentation as may be required· Advanced university degree in natural resources management, environmental sciences, resource economics, or other fields relevant to disaster management.
· At least 5 years of work experience in a relevant field, preferably in NGO
· Fluency in written and spoken English and Somali is essential.
· Good analytical skills and good drafting capabilities are required
