Being an employee of the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) in Ethiopia the Finance Assistant is expected to represent NRC in a responsible manner and always act in accordance with NRC’s Code of Conduct.
Roles & Responsibilities:
The purpose of the Assistant position is to assist in the day to day implementation of the support functions responsibilities. Use actions words such as conduct or assist for the position relevant responsibilities.

· Ensure accurate maintenance of all NRC financial and accounting files and transactions;
· Ensure proper management of accounting documents and records.
Professional competencies:
· BA in Accounting or related field
· At least two years’ experience as Finance Assistant (humanitarian/recovery context)
· Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
· Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
· Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
· Fluency in English, both written and verbal

· Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
· Strict attention to policy and practice detail
· Very strong financial analysis skills and Good knowledge on financial reporting systems
· High integrity
· Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

· Ability to function independently and as a work team leader/facilitator
· Excellent computer skills with hands on experience on computerized accounting systems; and Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
