Ethiopia ACT is a foreign, non-profit organization registered by the Charities and Societies Agency in line with the local proclamation to alleviate psychosocial and health related challenges in selected areas of Addis Ababa. In view of achieving its goal, Ethiopia ACT would like to hire a competent counselor graduated from recognized university. Basic responsibilities:
The Assistant Counselor is directly responsible to the ACT Project counselor. He/she will work in conjunction with the Counselor to complete all counseling-related goals as outlined within the ACT Project agreement. He/she will assess, evaluate, plan, and conduct counseling for families of ACT in accordance to overall project goals and treatment plans of project families. He/she will also coordinate with psychiatrists within the local Ethiopian health system to provide referrals and follow up for mental health- related issues within the family. He/she will visit families in their homes, with or without the Counselor, to build relationships with families and provide checkups and follow ups. He/she will also provide translation for the Counselor, when necessary
Specific functions and responsibilities-
Terms of employment: Contract (renewable based on good performance)
Education: BA in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work from a recognized University
Experience: At least two years of experience in the field of counseling
