Edukans is an international NGO with headquarters in Amersfoort, the Netherlands and local offices in a.o, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Edukans contributes to education and training young people for a better life. Edukans focuses on quality education skills development and education in Emergency. For a new 2-year programme, Edukans Ethiopia is looking for a competent person with proven qualities and able to start as soon as possible.
Edukans will implement a 2 year programme, Stemming Irregular Migration in North and Central Ethiopia (SINCE) the Oromia Lot . The programme is funded by the European Union through the Embassy of Italy in Ethiopia. The objective is to contribute to reduce irregular migration from Northern and Central Ethiopia by improving the living conditions of the most vulnerable population, including potential migrants and returnees with specific focus on youth and women. The specific objective is to create greater economic and employment opportunities, by establishing inclusive economic programs that foster employment opportunities, including vocational training, value chain strengthening and strengthening of governmental employment services, in the most migration-prone regions. This programme focuses Oromia Regional State, Arsi, West Arsi and Bale Zones.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinates employees based at the field;
Conducts need assessments at the TVETs and develop representative reports;
Assures quality of implementation at the field level;
Represent Edukans in field level meetings/ workshops with consortium partners and government bodies;
Provide technical support and participate in planning, needs assessment, supervision, M&E and performance reporting;
As per agreed plan, organize/lead/ coordinate Edukans ToT to TVETs, ATVETs and SMEs training;
Provide technical support to TVETs & companies in the training of unemployed youth and women;
Support and follow up identification of companies or SMEs and placement of TVET students;
Maintain project documentation and records, both electronic and paper files, necessary for reporting, M&E and input for strategizing project efficiency and effectiveness;
Closely supervises the community mobilizers and prepare quarter progress reports (narrative, technical and financial) and report to the MEAL Coordinator at Coordination Office;
Prepare timely reports for concerned government offices;
Reports to Country Representative based in Addis Ababa.
