FH Ethiopia, a non-governmental organization engaged in relief and development activities, would like to invite potential candidates to apply for the following position:
Position: Wash Project Manager
Duty Station: Addis Ababa with frequent field travel
Duration of Contract: One year contract (Renewable with 45 days probation period)
Closing date: June 28, 2018
Basic Responsibilities:
Key Result #1 – Planning, implementation and reporting
1. Plans, co-ordinates and directs WASH activities of the organization so as to ensure that activities are implemented in compliance with the approved targets and objectives;
2. Manage and guide WASH project grant with regard to the planned project implementation in Dera district.
3. Closely follow up and play a technical leadership role in WASH project planning, monitoring and evaluation.
4. Ensure activities are implemented as per the approved Activity and Budget Plan and make sure that implementation of the new MWA grant on WASH complies with donor’s requirements, government policies and global standards.
5. Guide and ensure the preparation of high quality project for WASH project and timely submission to all appropriate stakeholders
6. Lead and participate the five year MWA WASH project development process. Actively work with MWA WASH implementing partners
7. Prepare standard design documents for water and Sanitation facilities;
8. Prepare appropriate bid documents, engineering cost estimations and TORs for various construction activities;
9. Represent the organization in WASH related forums/clusters/events/groups;
10. Ensure sustainability of WASH interventions in collaboration with concerned stakeholders and partners.
11. Assess the capabilities and constraints faced by WASH stakeholders and provide proactive guidance and support on project planning and prioritization, WASH proposals design, technical backstopping etc.
12. Ensure implementation of basic guidelines and standards for WASH projects.
13. Research and adopt innovative practices in the WASH Sector.
14. Cooperate with other program staff to ensure good integration with other program areas in general and of sanitation and hygiene promotion in particular.
1. Conduct regular field visit, compile filed report, prepare and produce regular reports as per format and standard of the organization and follow up for implementation of recommendations.
2. Collect and communicate data related to WASH issues from concerned stakeholders
3. Keep proper records of WASH project expenditures and report accordingly
4. Gives technical backup for field WASH Officers in the area of planning, implementation and monitoring.
Requirements:
Education – M.Sc. /B.Sc. Degree in Water Resource Engineering, Environmental Health, and Public Health, Sanitary science or other related fields;
Experience – minimum of five years experience preferably in an NGO setting
