Nutrition International (NI), a non-profit agency dedicated to eliminating vitamin and mineral deficiencies worldwide, invites proposals from competent agencies to implement a rapid survey in Ethiopia.
Nutrition International is an Ottawa-based, international not-for-profit organization dedicated to ensuring that the world's most vulnerable especially women and children in developing countries get the vitamins and minerals they need to survive and thrive. Supported by the Global Affairs Canada (Government of Canada) and other generous donors, in Ethiopia, NI is working alongside the Ministry of Health to address the challenge of malnutrition. NI’s programs inform government policy and national health guidelines that make vitamin and mineral supplementation programs increasingly effective and inclusive. In addition to ongoing program on Vitamin A supplementation and salt iodization, NI is promoting the use of zinc and ORS for childhood diarrhea management in Amhara, Oromia, SNNP, and Tigray. NI is also working alongside the Ministry of Health to strengthen nutrition programs for vulnerable women, adolescent girls and young children through Right Start. Right Start, is an initiative being implemented in Afar, Amhara, BeneshangulGumuze, Oromia, SNNP and Tigray, regions.
