ROLE PURPOSE:
The project elapsed half way of the entire project implementation period. This is the time to pose and see what was happening so far and plan how best the intervention should proceed to meet the anticipated end result of the project. In order to do so, the project wanted to evaluation the project intervention on health and nutrition, food security and livelihood and water and sanitation themes. The evaluation will be conducted in 22 foods insecure project intervention woredas of Afar and Amahara region. The evaluation will be deployed both qualitative and quantitative data collection techniques. Quantitative data will be collected from samples pregnant and lactating mothers while the qualitative data will be collected from key informants of different community, woreda and regional level sector representatives, husbands of the pregnant and lactating women who participated in quantitative data collection.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
· Work closely with SCI INSPIRE team in planning and implementation of the field work.
· Receive team standardization training and conduct pilot data collection in similar but different kebeles from where the actual data collection to be conducted.
· Collect data as per the tools, procedures and guidance provided for the them at team standardization training.
· Ensure the data quality and integrity of the data to be collected and inform any data quality concerns for INSPIRE MEAL team.
· Submit all the electronic (for quantitative) / hard copy (for qualitative) data for SCI as per the agreed data collection and submission procedures.
· Submit transcribed and translated (in to English) version of qualitative data.
· Submit a brief regional report on the data collection process for SCI as part of the deliverables.
· Maintain the safety and security of tablets and other data collection tools provided for the purpose.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
· BSC or BA degree in, Statistics, Public Health, Nutrition, Demography, Sociology, Anthropology Agriculture or Food Security and Livelihood, Gender equality, WASH or environmental science, Social Science or other related fields.
· Relevant professional experience in quantitative and qualitative data collection.
· Proven expertise of carrying out large scale qualitative and quantitative data collection focusing ideally on Maternal and Child health and nutrition, food security and livelihood, gender and WASH;
· Previous experience of data collection on the project intervention woreda’s.
· Proficient on Listening, speaking, reading and writing on local languages (Afari and/ or Amhara) that are applied for data collection language.
· Hands-on experience on electronic data collection for quantitative surveys and different electronic data collection software including Kobo and ODK.
· Excellent English oral and writing communication skills.
