Position Title: HIV AIDS Care and Treatment Advisor –Seconded to FMOH -Re advert
Duty Station: Addis Ababa
Reports to: Director Regional Program Implementation Department-ERs
POSITION SUMMARY:
To provide technical support in the coordination of National HIV care and treatment in order to adequately address the huge public health problem arising from HIV/AIDS.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:-
Under the overall supervision of FMOH DPCD, HIV prevention and control case team
Provides overall technical guidance and support to HIV/AIDS care and treatment
· Support FMoH in policy guidance and strategic planning to support implementation of the HIV program and delivery of quality services in line with evidence-based recommendations and practices
· Supports the Ministry of Health, Regional Health Bureaus and other stakeholders in building institutional capacity on HIV/AIDS care and treatment activities
· Supports coordination and preparation/revision of National guidelines, training materials , job aids and patient communication tools
· Provide technical assistance to FMOH to Strengthen integration of HIV program with the health system at all level so that different programs and tiers of health system work more effectively and efficiently
· Support the coordination and implementation of the National transition plan
· . Support FMOH to enable RHBs to adopt and implement the national health care quality strategy and HIV service quality improvement framework
· Assists the HIV prevention and control case team members in the activities related to care and treatment.
· Performs other relevant duties as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
• MD /MPH Minimum 7 years of experience in public health particularly on management and control of HIV/AIDS
• Training in epidemiology, infectious disease related course is desirable.
• Previous work experience in UN or other international Non-governmental organizations is advantageous;
• Excellent working knowledge of English
• Good working knowledge of the official language of the Country
• Demonstrable skills in IT including the use of epidemiological and statistical software
• Carry out any other duties and/or responsibilities assigned by the immediate supervisor.
