Currently, Islamic Relief is looking for volunteer/intern for definite period of time to support our huge burden of works in our Country Office, Addis Ababa.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Human Resources (HR) Assistant is responsible for performing a variety of technical and administrative support responsibilities relating to personnel functions and programs including in the areas of employment recruitment, workers’ compensation, benefits administration, classification and compensation, employee relations, and liability claims. He/she provides information and assistance to the Senior HR Officer and performs a variety of tasks requiring specialized knowledge related to area of assignment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assisting with day to day operations of the HR functions and duties, providing clerical and administrative support to Senior HR Officer.
2. Assists in reviewing departmental recruitment requests to ensure all recruitment are conducted against the organization’s staff establishment.
3. Assists in the drafting of job advertisements for vacant jobs, screening, interviewing and selecting candidates.
4. Prepares applicants long list and communication with selected candidates for schedules interviews.
5. Provides general clerical and administrative support to the Human Resources Unit; prepares all documentation relating to appointments including offer and termination letters, reports pertaining to human resource management programs and activities.
6. Assists with overall administration of employees benefit plans, including document preparation for enrollment.
7. Maintains an up to date and accurate personnel records (both Hard and Soft copies) and with timely data entry and document control for employee matters and personnel files.
8. Implements HR policies, practices, and procedures, and ensures compliance with legal laws and/or regulations as regards recruitment.
9. Assists in the administration of all personnel policies and procedures.
10. Assists in job analysis and preparation of job descriptions and person specifications for recruitment, job evaluation and other purposes.
11. Performs any other duties as required by management from time to time.
· Bachelor’s degree in Management or related fields
· Competence in MS Office
· Excellent interpersonal skills – builds good relationships with internal and external stakeholders
· Able to plan, prioritize and organize self and others
· Ability to manage a complex and demanding workload with flexible behavior
· Sympathy with the aims and objectives of IRE
