Background
The Institute for Peace and Security Studies (IPSS) is an African institution with the mission to promote peace and security in Ethiopia and Africa through education, research, and professional development. The Institute trains skilled professionals in conflict prevention, management and resolution as well as in peacebuilding, and promotes the values of a democratic and peaceful society.
IPSS is seeking a highly organized and motivated individual to prepare a Fundraising/Institutional Bids Strategic Planning document.

Responsibilities
Under the guidance and supervision of the programme management head, the consultant will:
· Develop a Fundraising/Institutional Bids Strategic document conception and planning document based on IPSS 5 year strategy (2015-2020);
· Conduct a set of training for staff working on institutional fundraising/bidding in line with the fundraising strategy document;
· Identification of key funding/consortium opportunities to submit bidding concepts;
· Create a database (that can be updated yearly) of key funders including their funding focus, scope, geographical coverage, funding involved, funding submission dates.
Qualifications
· MA in social sciences, preferably in global studies, development studies or any other related field of study.
· At least five years’ experience in fundraising/Institutional Development Bids and document preparation;
· Experience in Strategy development.
· Excellent research skills;
· Knowledge of Excel spreadsheets;
· Highly organized, self-motivated, adaptable and flexible.
· Excellent knowledge of the African development landscape in the field of peace and security
