Senior Child Protection Officer to the African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of Children (ACERWC to Children Affected by Armed Conflicts (CAAC)– Secondment to ACERWC, Addis Ababa.
Department & Location:- At the AUC ACERWC, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
Duration (Timeframe): Two years contract ( January 2019 to December 2020)
Reports to :- Work under the direct supervision and guidance of the Secretary of ACERWC and supports the Special Rapporteur on CAAC to implement planned activities; will be the conduit for strategic discussions, and joint implementation of activities between ACCP Consortium members, AU mechanisms, RECs and CSOs in the region. The position has a dotted reporting line to the African Children’s Charter Project (ACCP-II) Program Manager of Plan International African Union Liaison and Pan Africa Program Office

The purpose of this role is to lead and act as a focal point person for Plan International AU Liaison and Pan Africa Program Office’s support ACERWC and specifically support the Special Rapporteur on CAAC to implement planned activities, be the conduit for strategic discussions and joint implementation of activities between ACCP-II Consortium members, AU mechanisms, RECs and CSOs in the region of Africa. This role will contribute to coordinating and strengthening of Plan International AU Liaison and Pan Africa Program Office’s engagement with the ACERWC on CAAC.Main duties and responsibilities
