EC Terms of Reference – EU-Coffee Action for the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia
The overall objective of the project is to contribute to sustainable growth in the agricultural sector and to improve the food and nutrition security situation of vulnerable population groups. The project is designed to support smallholder coffee producers, processors, traders and their organisations to improve: productivity; quality with focus on specialty and traceable coffees; value chain development; and trade transparency through public-private-partnership dialogues to increase income shares of stakeholders and to enable Ethiopia to gain more from coffee trade. tHE project also aims to pilot the registration of some Ethiopian coffees through Geographic Indications (GIs); install and operationalise information technology systems; and establish interactive extension management and market information systems.
Action shall be carried out at the following locations: the Regions of Oromia, Southern Nations Nationalities and Peoples, and Amhara. Project teams will be based in the premises of Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Development and Marketing Authority (Addis Ababa), Oromia Coffee and Tea Authority (Addis Ababa), Southern Nations Nationalities Peoples (SNNP) Coffee and Tea Authority (Hawassa) and, Amhara Bureau of Agriculture (Bahir Dar).
The Team Leader will be responsible for the overall quality and timelines of the teams performance and its delivered outputs as well as the reporting and direct communication with the Contracting Authority and other relevant stakeholders.
The anticipated starting date is July 2019, with an initial implementation period of 42 months.
Qualifications and skills
General professional experience
At least 5 years; experience in managing a team and/or as project manager in the last 10 years
Specific professional experience and skills
