Job Purpose:
The Director of Sourcing & Logistic, reporting to the CEO, plan, organize, direct, coordinate and control the overall transport, sourcing, procurement, warehouse and facility Management functions of the company and prepares strategies, policies and procedures on these core functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Prepare and update policy and procedures for logistics, procurement, transport and fleet, warehouse and inventory and facility management, and other related activities.
· Manage the entire process in the planning of commodities procurement and inventory control, logistics and distribution, customs clearance, ensuring effectively functioning processes to avoid costly delays and lost opportunities.
· Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, and transportation and facility Management functions.
· Manage distribution network functions to achieve proper inventory levels
· Recommend ideal shipping methods, routing or carriers to meet necessary parameters, specifications and costs.
· Plan or implement improvements to internal or external logistics systems or processes.
· Conduct or review environmental audits for logistics activities, such as storage, distribution, or transportation.
· Establish or monitor specific supply chain-based performance measurement systems.
· Plan, manage and control the flow of goods and services, information, in real-time data and human resources from the point of origin to the point of destination.
· Ensure that the entire process of logistics is maintained and developed in accordance with the goals of the business at an economical cost
· Coordinate with third party logistics, with vendors, service providers and transport carriers
· Ensure integration of material handling, warehousing, information, transportation, packaging and inventory.
· Allocate and manage staff resources according to changing needs.
· Responsible for selecting the right vehicles and maintaining them in good operating condition so that the company can meet its distribution objectives efficiently and cost-effectively
· Maintain receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and policies and procedures.
· Maintain physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
· Responsible for efficient storage and supply as well as rerouting of goods.
· Ensures proper handling of payments preparation for freight charges for container deposits and port handling to the carrier and transit agents
· Reviewing declarations collected from transit agents and handle custom clearance
· Ensure company has proper insurance coverage.
· Manage and coordinate company space, building, infrastructure, people and organization, associated with the administration of office blocks, manufacturing place etc.
· Ensure workplace health and safety requirements are meet and take responsibility for the security of the building and stock.
· Perform other duties as required.
Education & Experience:
· Masters /Bachelor Degree in Procurement and Supply, Logistics management, Management or Business Related Fields from recognized university.
· A minimum of 10 years work experiences preferably at manufacturing industries in transport, sourcing, procurement, warehousing and facility management areas out of which 5 years on top managerial position.
