Organizational Setting
Meki-Batu fruit and vegetables growers’ cooperative union (MBCU) is looking to urgently hire a very well experienced project coordinator for its Global Good Agricultural Practices (GGAP) Certification project. The project has been running since 2016 and, so far, more than 130 smallholder farmers are growing GGAP certified onions, tomatoes and green beans. MBCU is looking to build on this success by significantly scaling up the number of GGAP certified farmers. The Project coordinator will be leading the scaling up effort in close collaboration with partner organizations. A key organization jointly leading the GGAP project with MBCU in the GGAP project are IDH-the Sustainable Trade Initiative (a Dutch NGO) and the Ethiopian Horticulture Producers and Exporters Association (EHPEA).
Responsibilities
The project coordinator will be responsible for the overall supervision of the GGAP project implementation on a day to day basis. The responsibilities of the project coordinator will include the following:
Employment Type: Contractual (The initial appointment is for a period of one year. However, the duration of the contract or its extension of appointment is subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funds).
