BRIDGE, Building Rural Income through Inclusive Dairy Business Growth in Ethiopia, is a five-year dairy development project (2018-2023), implemented by SNV Ethiopia in partnership with Wageningen University-Livestock Research. The impact of the project is to contribute to an “improved performance in the dairy sector in Ethiopia”, for 120,000 farming households, with four main outcomes: (1) Improved milk production, (2) Improved milk collection, processing, and marketing, (3) Improved consumption of nutritious foods, and (4) Improved enabling environment. The project will work in 4 regional states: Oromia, Amhara, SNNP and Tigray.
SNV Ethiopia is looking for dynamic, experienced, talented, energetic and flexible and open and ready to learn Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) –Specialist for its growing project BRIDGE.
The successful appointee will have access to start-up resources and some ongoing support, and will be encouraged to apply for his/her own skills, knowledge and experience. This position is fully responsible for performing BRIDGE project Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning responssibilities at regional/cluster level. The Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Specialist will be part of the regional project team. The position holder leads annual regional/cluster project planning, ensure internal (SNV and BRIDGE project) and external (Regional government/partners and donor) compliance, prepare project performance reports in consultation with RM-BRIDGE, facilitate knowledge development & learing and ensur accounatability at different level and contribute to the project MEAL system dvelopment.
S/he will be part of the SNV-Ethiopia MEAL community and in that capacity will be requested (as per need) to render support to other projects on M&E matters. S/he will take additional roles as advised by the RMBNAtional Level MEAL Cooridnator.
The person
Applicants should possess qualifications and requirements in relevant disciplines Bachelor’s Degree in Economies, Statistics, Development studies, Agri-business or other related fields and a minimum of 3-5 years of MEAL experience, preferably with international non-government organization in similar project interventions. Demonstrated experience of translating log frames and results frameworks into monitoring plans, developing data collection tools and protocols, leading data collection and management process, designing and managing databases, and analyzing data. Proven technical skills in monitoring and evaluation and experience with both qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis.
