The Comitato Internazionale per lo Sviluppo dei Popoli, - International Committee for the Development of Peoples (CISP) is a non-governmental international cooperation and voluntary service organization established in 1982 in Italy. The Head Quarter is located in Rome, with regional offices throughout Italy and worldwide. In the last 30 years, CISP has carried out over 600 projects in more than 30 different countries, reaching millions of peoples in Europe, Africa, Latin America and Caribbean countries, Middle East, Asia.
In Ethiopia CISP is operational since May 1986, officially registered according to the national laws and regulations, operates through a close partnership and collaboration with the existing decentralized administrative bodies, such as the Regional, Zone and District (Woreda) line departments and administrative offices, in several sectors of Relief-Rehabilitation and Multi-Sector integrated development activities. A number of partnerships and collaborations are also active with International NGO’s, Ethiopian NGOs, CBOs, Research Institutes, government development actors.

Project profile
“The project entitled "Resilience and Integration in Favour of Eritrean Refugees and Host Communities in Shire area (RIFER)" will be implemented in Mai-Ayni, Adiharush and Hitsats refugee camps and host communities around the camps. The project aimed at to improve the living condition of Eritrean refugees and host communities through integrated environmental protection, livelihood diversification, vulnerable group protection and empowerment and access to basic services such as education WASH and health sectoral intervention. The project is implementing in consortium with VIS, CISP, CIAI and CCM, and led by VIS for 18 months. In the internal arrangement CISP is responsible to WASH and Environmental protection activities including rehabilitation of two boreholes, construction of family latrines, tree planation, solar pump installation, etc.
Overall objective: To contribute to the reduction of irregular migration from Northern and Central Ethiopia by improving the living conditions of the most vulnerable population, including potential migrants and returnees with specific focus on youth and women.
