Tearfund in Ethiopia is looking for an experienced Emergency Officer to manage the implementation of humanitarian and recovery programming through providing support to, monitoring, and developing the capacity of Partners in the country. You will have delegated responsibility for managing a significant budget and will liaise with Tearfund’s partners and staff to meet the objectives of this programming. The successful candidate will have experience of managing large multi-sectoral institutional donor funded humanitarian projects with particular reference to Livelihoods, WASH and cash sectors.
The role will scope, develop and implement a strategy to meet emergency needs through partner organisations with responsibility for project implementation, monitoring and evaluation of projects, delivering accountability and compliance commitments and supporting the collation of internal and external narrative and financial donor reports and the management of related staff in the team.
Excellent written and spoken skills is required in English, along with a degree in a relevant sector of humanitarian work, proven experience in project management (including needs assessments, proposal development experience, monitoring and evaluation, strategic planning) and people management.
The candidate must also be able to travel within the country for work, with remote supervision, to tight time frames. Please note, applicants must be committed to Tearfund's values and missions.
