GLRA East Africa is a non-Governmental organization with Headquarters in Germany, addressing health, inclusion, Humanitarian Aid and research in an innovative way. GLRA East Africa is active in Ethiopia, Tanzania, Uganda, South Sudan, Sudan and Yemen, with its Regional office based in Addis Ababa/Ethiopia.
Our mission is to continue to excel in our fight against NTDs, and use, develop and expand our expertise to TB, other NTD and disabilities to ensure that marginalized persons obtain access to adequate health care and inclusion.
Purpose of the Job:
The main purpose of the job is to facilitate the implementation of GLRA global communication and PR framework to the GLRA East Africa region by making sure sufficient room is provided for local and regional adaptations. Accordingly, the position holder is responsible for the development and implementation of Communications Strategy that promotes GLRA’s vision & mission and visibility in the GLRA East Africa region, strengthening advocacy, country programs’ effectiveness and fundraising opportunities in coordination with the teams in the regional office, head quarters(Germany) and programs in the countries of the Region. He/she is also responsible for gathering and producing internal and external communications messages and material throughout the region and in line with the communication and PR strategy. He/she also provides administrative support to the regional representative in human resource management. The position holder reports to the East Africa Regional Representative and closely collaborates with GLRA programs, regional teams in both at the regional office and the HQ & different partners.
Plan and implement communications inside and outside an organization and to ensure that the organization communicates consistent messages to all its different audiences :Donors, partners ,communities including employees and the media. By managing the quality and consistency of communication, With the aim to increase understanding and awareness of the organization activities and build positive attitudes
