Organizational Context:
Hope Enterprises (HEs) is a non-governmental and not-for-profit organization registered under the Charities and Societies Agency Law. It operates in Oromia, Amhara, SNNP, Gambella, Beneshangul-Gumuz regions and Addis Ababa. Its primary goal is addressing poverty and deprivation by caring for and training street children, orphans and children from low income families. It has seven schools, three vocational centers (TVET) and a College where over 6000 children and young adults are learning and being trained. Currently, Hope Enterprises would like to invite qualified and dynamic applicants for the position of Data Quality Officer.
Purpose of the position
The job of education expert is established for the purpose of familiarize himself with the latest knowledge of the education policy, strategy, and the law pertaining to pre-college education (KG to secondary level). He/she is responsible for raising and maintaining the quality of HOPE’s Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary schools to a high standard. He/she has Master’s Degree level knowledge in curriculum development, Educational planning and related fields of education and uses this knowledge to plan, implement and develop the education program of the organization. He/she will play exemplary leadership role in fostering the vision, mission and core values of HEs. He/she will be responsible to the Director of Program Operation and has the following major responsibilities.
Major responsibilities
· Perform duties in professional manner and in accordance with the academic standards, objectives and core values of HOPE Enterprises
· Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as meeting deadlines, honoring schedule and collaboration with staffs and beyond
· Play a leading role in providing expertise support for HE’s schools, from Kindergarten to secondary school, (incl. NFE and FAL) and follows up those students who attend various colleges and universities under full or partial sponsorship.
· Ensure that the teaching learning process is conducted in HOPE schools according to the government curriculum and the quality packages designed by the MOE and donors
· Actively participate in recruiting qualified teachers and school directors for the school according to the standard of MOE and HR policy of the organization
· Provides capacity building (quality) training to the teaching staff on improvements and transformational concepts in training.
· Organize and prepare timely, complete and reliable reports that should be submitted to donors and sector offices.
· Monitors and evaluate the various education programs including students score analysis and facilities of the branch schools by visiting them all at least once every four months and straightens out any problem that may surface during the visits
· Spearheads the planning and budgeting process of the sector integrating the operations under one’s purview and submits the same to the DPO
· Organize and prepare timely (quarter, bi-annual and annual), complete and reliable reports of the sector by collecting information from the branches that should be submitted to donors and sector offices.
· Serves as a resource person on education to the office of the ladders and be a learning person to play that role well.
· Adheres to the values, vision, mission, objectives and staff code of ethics of Hope Enterprises in all things that one is involved in as a manager
Education/Qualifications:
· MA/MSC in Educational planning, Curriculum development, and other education related fields
Experience:
· Minimum of 8 years of experiences in related field,
Skills and Competencies:
· Excellent computer skills in Microsoft office applications
· Strong analytical skill and good knowledge of data collection, tabulation and analysis
· Excellent skill in preparing plans, writing reports and providing training
· Ability to work under pressure
· Ability to work in good team spirit
