Doctors with Africa CUAMM is an international NGOs, based in Italy, established in 1950 with the aim of supporting developing countries in their effort to build sustainable and accessible health systems. The organization’s mission is to reduce the needless loss of lives in development and emergency contexts caused by lack of effective health care, and to contribute to improve health outcomes among the most vulnerable group of the population.
CUAMM, in collaboration with Federal Ministry of Health, Disease Prevention and Control Directorate, is going to implement the project “Improving the quality and accessibility of Diabetes and Hypertension prevention and care” with the primary aim of increasing the uptake of screening services for diabetes and hypertension, improving the capacity health facilities to provide specialized diagnosis services for diabetes patients and facilitate access to curative services.
The Project Officer will be responsible for implementing activities as per approved project and related to EDA, in collaboration with the Project Manager.
Specific Responsibilities:
1. The project Officer will be seconded at EDA office and help the local association in carrying out
the project activities as per agreement and project.
2. Monthly planning of activities in coordination and integration with other activities implemented
by Doctors with Africa CUAMM Staff in the same project area.
3. Build the capacity of the local project partner (Ethiopian Diabetes Association),while carrying
out the project activities.
4. Organize and coordinate supervision visits to the facilities involved.
5. Plan and organize Educational Activities in collaboration with hospitals, HCs and EDA branch
offices.
6. Collect data of the activities implemented on quarterly basis.
7. Write and submit reports on implemented activities on quarterly basis
8. Any additional assignment, according to the position, given by the Project Manager or Country
Manager
Required Education & amp; Experience: the candidate must hold Master Degree in Public Health or other relevant Master degree (health studies, anthropology, local development) with proven field experience of at least 3 years in public health projects, preferably in the area of diabetes prevention and treatment.
