The Ethiopian Horticulture Producer Exporters Association (EHPEA) was established in 2002 as a non-profit making and Non-government organization being an autonomous and non- political entity instituted primarily to protect interest of its members. Its membership constitutes almost all Horticulture (flower, fruit, vegetables and herbs) producer Exporters in the country. EHPEA’s strives to promote the competitive position of Ethiopian Horticulture Sector in the Global market on Sustainable manner. Currently EHPEA is seeking to employ qualified and competent staff for Project Accountant position for Ethio-Dutch Horticultural Development Programme(ED-HPD).
JOB SUMMARY
Under the general policy direction from the Executive Director and Finance and Administration Department Head, the “Accountant” is responsible for the general aspect of financial accounting and management systems for the project in the Association. The Accountant will work closely with EHPEA's project team and other staff members.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Accountant will have the following duties and responsibilities to undertake in collaboration with finance and administration department head:
Prepare monthly financial statements, reports and records by collecting, analysing and summarizing account information.
Responsible for budget preparation and budget tracking
Review monthly bank reconciliation and statements
Manage the accounting and finance transactions
Ensure the integrity of the financial and accounting and finance systems at all times
Manage the data input for the accounting and finance system
Responsible in preparing Journal entries and reconciles general ledger and subsidiary accounts.
Prepare monthly, semi-annual and annual budget utilization report for management and donors
Prepares monthly financial statements including monthly revenue and expenditure reports.
Prepare annual financial reports and make ready for external audit
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Terms of employment:
Initially for one year and will be renewable subject to performance.

JOB SPECIFICATION
Knowledge, Skill and Abilities
Basic knowledge of accounting principles, internal controls and closing cycle.
Knowledge of ledger entries, Banking procedures, financial filling systems.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft office and Peachtree accounting software
Good oral and written communication skill
Ability to collaborate/ team work environment
Develop and manage sensitive financial information
Experience working with NGO and donor projects are preferable
Minimum Qualification and Experience
BA Degree in Accounting from a recognized university with five (6) years relevant experience
