In Ethiopia GIZ has been implementing development programs on behalf of the German government for over 40 years jointly with our national partners. The focus of our work in the country is on vocational education, sustainable use of natural resources, land management and food security, biodiversity and forestry. Further programs enhance the development of a sustainable textile sector and renewable energies. Against this background, GIZ Ethiopia is looking to recruit IKM and communication Advisor for GIZ-PLUP as specified:
Position: IKM and Communications Advisor

A- Responsibilities:
B- Tasks:
§ Prepare high quality communication products tailored for specific target groups (i.e. brochures, flyers, videos etc.) and organize systematic dissemination
§ Support the public dialogue between civil society and the private sector
§ Maintain and feed structured and standardized documentation systems (e.g. DMS), facilitate accessibility of knowledge products through online portals such as the Land Portal.
§ Set-up of project internal information and knowledge management systems (e.g. NAS-Server)
§ Lead the organization of various events and ensure professional documentations
§ Ensure project data storage and regular back-ups
§ Support partner institutions in enhancing their communication with stakeholders
§ Networking with relevant communities of practice in land use planning and policy
§ Support partner institutions in updating web site
§ Maintain a good and effective communication between the project’s partner organizations, GIZ, other relevant public institutions and state organizations;
§ Communicate, both orally and in writing, with colleagues and partners through communication products, reports and presentations;
§ Organize and share experience during study tours and Multi-Stakeholder-Fora with relevant partners and target groups;
§ Assist in and/or carry out other tasks as assigned by the GIZ-PLUP Project Manager
A- Required qualifications, competences and experience
§ Master’s degree (or equivalent) from an accredited institution in knowledge management, journalism, information and communications technology, development studies or a related field, or a combination of education and experience that yields the required competencies.
§ Experience with SharePoint or other content management system.
§ Demonstrated experience in producing information and visibility materials for different channels, including social media;
§ Excellent communication skills, both in written and oral English and Amharic;
§ Advanced computer skills (MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Publishing Excel, and SharePoint, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator) with experience in graphic design and lay outing of publications;
§ High degree of initiative, integrity, accountability and the ability to prioritize tasks;
§ Good self-management and interpersonal skills, team spirit and to operate effectively and detail-oriented in a fast-paced environment;
§ Passion for Land and Natural Resources Management;
§ Ability to maintain confidentiality on work-related matters;
§ Willingness to travel to various project regions (up to 30%).
