Job Title: WASH Team Leader (National Position)- Female only
Reporting to: WASH/Shelter Project Manager
Job Based at: Bule Hora with travel to the fields

Being an employee of the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) in Ethiopia the WASH team leader is expected to represent NRC in a responsible manner and always act in accordance with NRC’s Code of Conduct.
Background:
The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is present in five regions in Ethiopia, providing refugees and internally displaced people with emergency relief and help them to rebuild their lives. NRC works within the sectors of Education, Shelter, WASH, Livelihood and Food Security, ICLA (Information, Counselling and Legal Assistance), and Child Protection.
Roles & Responsibilities:
The WASH Team Leader is responsible for coordination of the WASH CC projects within the West Guji and Gedeo zones.
Generic responsibilities
· Manage and implement delegated portfolio of WASH projects (activities, budget and project documentation) as delegated from WASH/Shelter PM in line with proposals, strategies and donor requirements, and ensure high technical quality;
· Provide regular progress reports to WASH/Shelter PM;
· Promote and share ideas for improvement and necessary changes in the activities;
Specific responsibilities
Professional competencies
· BSc degree with 5 years’ or MSc degree with 3 years’ experience respectively in one or more of the following: Hygiene promotion, Civil engineering, Hydraulic engineering, Water supply and irrigational engineering, Water supply and environmental engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water resource and Environmental Engineering and related subject.
Context related skills, knowledge and experience
· Knowledge of the operating context in Guji and Gedeo zones is a significant asset;
· Knowledge of the local languages is an advantage;
· Knowledge and experience of the application of SPHERE and links to emergency and longer-term development practice;
· Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
