Beza posterity development organization /BPDO/ is an indigenous, non-profit making, non-governmental humanitarian organization working on sexual reproductive health, HIV AIDS and STIs prevention, care and support, improving the socio-economic wellbeing of women and girls, environmental protection, youth leadership and employment.
BPDO has entered a project agreement with USAID to implement activities entitled Community based HIV Prevention care and treatment in the selected Woredas of Amhara and Addis Abab regional states with major focus on test and treat and community ART service.
· Duration of employment: one year with possibility of extension
Duties and Responsibilities of Technical officer
· Plan, organize, implement and monitor Community based HIV prevention care and treatment Project activities as per the standards in the Project agreement signed.
· Provide day to day technical and mentoring support to the CEFs to deliver quality and comprehensive services to the target beneficiaries of the Project in all implementation sites.
· Adheres and comply with all technical standards and guidelines provided centrally from the project management (leadership).
· Facilitate regular supportive supervision and monitoring visits to implementation sites, facilitate discussions with CEFs, CRPs, local Government stakeholders and others involved.
· Ensure Project implementation processes are well documented and maintained at all levels.
· Ensure all assessments carried out at all levels are conducted timely and meets requirements of the Project. S/he is responsible to verify/validate to ensure the tasks are completed accurately.
· Liaise with local Government administration, Community Care Coalitions with PLHIV associations Idirs, religious organizations,UHEWs, health facilities and other community level actors for coordination efforts.
· In collaboration with CEFs, ensure the CRPs are managing duties and responsibilities given to them.
· Ensure that all Project targets are recruited/selected based on the agreed selection criteria and with the consent and approval of the responsible body.
· Provide guidance and technical assistance to ensure the provision of quality service for the individual cases are based on case plans developed for them by the CEF during the assessment.
· Ensure that the requirements on service standard guidelines are met (refer to the Standard Operating Procedure developed and provided for LIPs).
· Involve/participate in network or coordination or taskforce meetings in the implementation sites. Present project progress and discuss challenges encountered (as relevant to the platforms) for solution, as required.
· In collaboration with the Project team, organize and facilitate trainings and workshops and submit related reports in a timely manner.
· Gather relevant information, compile, and update and report data related to the Project and also participate in the preparation of quarterly, annual and Program termination reports to the concerned government offices and donors.
Qualification, experiences, Essential Skills and Abilities
· Degree in Nursing, public health officer or nutrition with a minimum of 3 and above year work experience in to prevention of HIV at community level is must
· Training and certification
ü HIV testing services
ü Comprehensive PLHIVs case management at community seting
ü TB screening and management
· Professional registration license
· 4 and above years’ experience for degree holders.
· Experience of working at community level HIV services and health care provision
· Experience in developing detailed implementation plans, monitoring & supervision of activities
· Able to work independently with minimum support
· Good Interpersonal communication and partnership skill
