JOB DESCRIPTION: The driver and logistic will provide driving and logistic support for the Population Council country office. Based in Addis, this position will also involve frequent travel to the field.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Safely transport authorized passengers on their official duties obeying all traffic laws and regulations
Perform daily inspections of organizational vehicles, maintain vehicle logs and take vehicle for maintenance as needed.
Handle organizational goods and materials, stacking and storing them in an appropriate manner to prevent damage or deterioration.
Support organizational stores and delivery of materials in assisting to offload materials and transport materials from vehicle to storage or visa versa.
Assist storeroom management
Apply standard regulations and procedures in case of accident, with a written report on any accident submitted to the supervisor immediately.
Ensure that individuals from outside the organization, traveling in organizational vehicles has authorization from the appropriate person.
Ensure that all the passengers are using the seatbelt and obeying the organizational regulations, including not using the vehicle for personal use.
Assist in coordinating activities in support of assigned projects, staff or guests.
Support in the procurement process, when requested by your supervisor
Ensure that routine office payments are processed and paid in a timely manner at the request of the supervisor.
Collect mail from the post office and deliver other important documents to other offices
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Job Requirement
Qualifications, Skills & Attributes:
Must have diploma or equivalent in related courses and in possession of a valid national 3rd grade driving license required
At least 5 years’ experience in a similar position, especially in an international organization.
Excellent verbal/written communication skills including English language skills
Must present professional and possess excellent customer service skills with professionals and individuals at all levels of the organization.
Ability to work flexible hours and within tight deadlines.
Able to travel extensively in Ethiopia including remote rural areas.
