Quality and Safety Manager

Summary Scope of Work
The Quality and Safety Manager is a senior level position. The Manager leads, and coordinates the design, implementation, monitoring, and documentation of project-related Quality Improvement and Patient Safety activities. The Manager leads the capacity building activities focused on quality improvement and patient safety, and supports the development of related training materials and job aids. The Manager works closely with regional health bureaus, intervention facilities and project personnel to initiate, follow-up and document progress of Quality Improvement and Patient Safety activities in all regions.
S/he will harmonize with the national quality strategic plan and the Quality and Patient Safety pillar of the national surgical care plan, the saving Lives through safe Surgery (SaLTS). S/he will build capacity for Quality Improvement and Patient Safety through training and coaching of project mentors and hospital surgical teams. S/he participates at regional, national and international Quality and Safety forums to represent Jhpiego, share project experience and disseminate best practices.
The project will support select target model-learning hospitals, new primary hospitals and health centers across Ethiopia.
