Strengthening Host and Refugee Population in Ethiopia (SHARPE) aims to increase livelihoods opportunities for refugees and host communities using the market systems approach. SHARPE will operate in 3 locations in Ethiopia, Jijiga, Dolo and Gambella, with a coordinating office in Addis. The programme is expected to last for 3.5 years.
Role and responsibilities
The Grants and Compliance Officer will be responsible for the successful day-to-day delivery of SHARPE’s grant projects in line with the grant agreements held between SHARPE and its partner organisations. The Grants and Compliance Officer will support the Technical Team to identify potential grantees, supporting on selection procedures as well as identifying potential risks during the selection and during implementation of grants. This will include the management of vetting and due diligence processes, contracting and monitoring the delivery of the activities of grantees according to the grant workplan and agreements and SHARPE’s policies and procedures. The role will be responsible for reviewing the finance reporting of the partner organisations and working with the Finance Team in SHARPE ensuring the timely review and disbursements of grant payments.

The Grants and Compliance Officer will report to the Finance and Operations Manager. The Grants and Compliance Officer will be based in Addis Ababa with frequent travel required to SHARPE’s hub offices in Dolo, Jijiga and Gambella.
