ROLE PURPOSE:
The job holder will be responsible for the successful implementation of the EU funded “Increasing Resilience and Economic Opportunities in Drought Prone Areas of Bale Zone Oromia Region ( RESET II)
Project at woreda level and ensure linkage and integration with RESET plus family planning program. This will include working closely with RESET plus program team, woreda sector offices and other stakeholders. The project officer will ensure proper project operations in a timely fashion.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
1 Specific tasks:
· Oversees the implementation of quality health and nutrition service provision at Woreda level, health centre and health post and ensuring that the quality standards are met.
· Ensures effective, management, implementation, monitoring, reporting and evaluation of the RESET II project activities in areas assigned by the FOs.
· Contribute to strengthening multi-sector coordination for better access to quality health services in RESET II consortium and implementing Woredas
· Contribute to strengthening multi-sector coordination for better access to quality health services in RESET II consortium and implementing Woredas
· Contribute to strengthening multi-sector coordination for better access to quality Nutrition services in RESET II consortium and implementing Woredas
· Ensures quality nutrition and health services, availability and accessibility to women,children and all adult in all targeted health facilities
· Ensures that capacity of health workers, health extension workers and woreda expert to provide quality health and nutrition services s in implementation areas
· Participating in health and nutrition project assessments as required.
· Ensure for production and distribution of appropriate IYCF practice IEC/BCC materials
· Conducts regular field visits to health posts and health centres to provide supportive supervision to the project.
· Provides technical support on Health and nutrition project for government woreda MNCH coordinator and health extension workers.
· Ensures indicators for quality implementation of Health and nutrition project services are met at health facilities
· Increases demand and providing quality service on consolidated health seeking behaviour and practices
· Strengthen the link between health post, health centre and community on referral system , gender and resilience
· Conduct and supervise food cooking demonstration at OTP and /SC site per months
· Assist operational research to show the importance of health and nutrition service to resilience interventions in project areas
· Ensure the distribution of procured drugs and medical supplies, HMIS folders and cards and other item by the project in collaboration of woreda and health center pharmaceutical personnel
· Ensures that the health staff, HEWs and HDAs, have adequate training on Health and nutrition integrated with all RESET plus /Family planning intervention
· Mentors and provides on-job training for health professionals and HEWs on Health and nutrition activities
· Create and maintain a smooth relationship with partners, consortium NGO and other authorities, and try to link program with the existing health structure smoothly,
· Support and facilitate the availability of health and nutrition commodities in a timely manner,
· Collect, organize and generate report on weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual based report and submit on timely manner.
· Insert CMAM data bases of acute malnutrition cases and synchronize on monthly basis
· Participate and represent Save the Children at woreda level consortium meeting
· Performs other related tasks as required by immediate supervisor
2. Other KPIs:
· Providing orientations on Child Safeguarding for partners and project beneficiaries;
· Ensure timely reporting of any suspected/concerns on fraud and child safeguarding issues;
· Ensure timely reporting of the security situations in program implementation area;
· Ensure child participation in project monitoring and evaluation through invitation for meetings, joint supervision, workshops etc.;
· Ensure for complaint are appropriately received and responded timely;
· Ensure for consistent reporting of any humanitarian situations in project implementation area;
3. Reporting:
· Organizes monthly project progress report and report on time to the line manager and provides updates when needed
· Provides a regular monthly overview of supplies and drug stock;
· Monthly basis produce activities conducted on child safeguarding and report to line/project managers;
· Monthly basis produces humanitarian situation report and submit line/project managers;
· Monthly basis produce complaints received and managed and report to line/project managers;
· Prepare and submit regular activities achieved on child participation in project implementation, monitoring and evaluation and report to line managers/project manager;
Prepare and submit feedback reports submitted to partners;
