Duration of contract: one year with possible extension
Place: Ethiopian Public Health Institute, Addis Ababa with possibility of travel to project site /Wolita Sodo
Reporting to:Geshiyaro Program Coordinator
The Geshiyaro project aims to eliminate intestinal worm transmission in the Wolaita Zone through treatment and provision of water and sanitation facilities. The Geshiyaro project at EPHI has collaborative partnership with Federal Ministry of Health, World Vision Ethiopia,Simprints and London Center of Neglected Tropical Disease Research. The project is looking for high caliber staff for this collaborative project.
Roles and responsibilities
· Ensure the availability of laboratory supplies for the field and laboratory activities
· Mobilize and secure resources required for the trainings , survey and workshops
· Develop logistics management strategies that increase efficiency and speed
· Assess appropriate material handling equipment needs and staffing levels to load, unload, move or store materials
· Monitor supplies returned from field
· Ensures that all required supplies, equipment, human power, vehicle are available and used for the survey purpose only and audit the timeline
· Assist with fuel related issues for the Survey vehicles
· Plan and implement logistic operational SOP; seeking extensive feedback and do pilot predictions of resource utilization and requirement before and during the implementation of the survey
· Prepare the list of supplies and reagents and equipment for the survey based on the checklist
· Support the field team (requesting to purchase, request from the EPHI store, prepare gate pass, facilitate to write support letter from EPHI before deploy to field)
· Supervise and manage the overall logistic activities of the Geshiaro survey
· Clear any equipment from customs
· Assist with Geshiaro procurements
· Prepare payroll for field staffs
· Conduct any work as assigned by the Geshiaro program coordinator
BSC in purchasing supply Management, Marketing, Business Management, with two-years of work experience
