Term of Reference (TOR) to offer training on people and work place management for Employers,
Introduction:The lack of economic opportunity in Waghimra prevents households from accessing any type of employment or income generating activity, which would otherwise allow them to diversify their sources of income. As a result, landlessness, disability and other marginalized groups of the population deprived of access to land are completely dependent on other members of their family or community and external assistance from government and NGOs. The unemployed, school dropout and landless youth is one of the most vulnerable groups. In order to cope with these unfavorable economic conditions, youth members of the community resort to unsafe migration in hope to find better opportunities in urban areas and on commercial farms.
In cognizant of these challenges Save the Children through its RESETII project has planned to offer training on employees’ management and occupational safety and health (OSH) to all potential employers in the project interventions woredas. The training is anticipated to able to create better job opportunity and work environment to the job seeker youths of the area and to strengthen the interaction of the employees and employers.
Therefore, in order to make effective and efficient employees management system, the project will build the capacity of employers of the potential private business sectors. Thus, people management and OSH training will be the key to create a better job environment for the youths and those potential employers of the area. Accordingly, target employers will get trainings on the above mentioned topics for two consecutive days based on their gaps and needs mostly on leadership, people management, work place management, Communication Skill and Interpersonal skill development.
General Objectives of the training:
· To increase capacity of employers people and work place management skills to run viable and safe business for both parties as per the current and future market demands.
Specific objective:
· To create better understanding about the contribution of their employees to their business.
· To improve abilities of employers to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life (Life skill development)
· To improve communication and leadership skill of the employers.
· To develop skills on how to coach and promote their employees positively.
· To develop employers’ creativity skills (Problem solving and innovation)
· To be aware on Save the children, Child safeguarding policy as collaborate.
After training, the Employers would be able to:
Training Participants
The training participants are targeted 20 higher level potential employers from Sekota town administration and 6 members of Broker Association based in Sekota town
Venue: Sekota Town, Mirafe Cinema Hall
Topics to be covered in the training
The training should cover at least but not limited to the following topic
· Concepts on communication skills and employee handling
· Concepts on leadership skills.
· Concepts on basic business management skills (planning, time management, business ethics and entrepreneurial thinking).
· Skills on positive employee coaching.
· Concepts on interpersonal skills development (Networking, Interpersonal relationship, dealing with difficult people, conflict resolution)
· Concepts on encouraging employees
· Creativity Skills (problem solving, innovation)
Training methodology:
· Power point presentation
· Discussion after each major topics
· Story telling
· Manual provision for each trainee
Material Requirement:
The materials required are pen, note book, flipcharts, paper plaster, marker and Bill Boards that are already procured and available at store. LCD projector, laptop computer for PowerPoint presentation and training manual for each employer are mandatory.

Trainer will be a person who have Master ToT training on people and work place management who have solid experience in facilitating training on such topics for adults. The training will be co-facilitated and supervised by Save the Children Youth Livelihoods and Employment Specialist staff. The Consultant must also have the following qualifications and experience:
• MA in Education and curricula development etc…
• Experience with design, planning, and/or delivery of training of trainers programs in life skill and empowerment, financial capabilities, youth livelihoods, literacy and numeracy and/or economic strengthening.
• Extensive experience with the creation and/or adaptation of life skills and empowerment, financial capabilities, livelihoods, and/or economic strengthening training materials for adults and/or youth in Ethiopian context (minimum: at least one material / curriculum / manuals / course in the past five years).
• Good understanding of the Amhara region contexts regarding youth employment
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Strong reading and speaking skills in English required; excellence in writing English is a plus.
• Fluency in more other languages spoken in Ethiopia: Amhara region is desirable.
