Job Summary:
Zerihun Associates is an international development consultancy and research firm specializing in impact evaluations. The firm's major intervention areas include process evaluation, cost-effectiveness analysis, business plan development, household and enterprise survey data collection, electronic survey designs, data quality management, and data analysis and reporting.
Zerihun Associates is looking for an individual Business Development and Finance Expert (Business Analyst) that will be assigned to a specific team tasked with developing viable and feasible business plan/model and tariff scheme.
Roles and responsibilities
The scope of the assignment includes (but not limited to) study reports and project document reviewing, project region and area context scanning, data collection and analysis (qualitative), prepare utility business plan, model and implementation schedule - for effective and sustainable management of the utility including utility tariff setting and facilitation shareholders discussion and validation workshop. The specific responsibilities of the Business analysis will include the following:
- Prepare a business plan to establish a water utility;
- Identify modalities on how the water supply entity should be organized and managed;
- Identify the required staffing and materials for the proposed water supply office to start operation;
- Propose a water tariff and technical service charges for the office that covers cost of operation, maintenance and other required cost;
- Prioritize the operational plan for the service for the next five years;
- Indicate financial and material resources requirement for the service and prepare tentative action plan for the tasks;
- Provide feedback and recommendations to research team;
- Conduct presentations and validation workshops and
- Does other related tasks as assigned.

Qualification
In addition, to a strong writing, reading and understanding English and Microsoft Office tools, the applicant need to have a minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Accounting, Management or any other related Social Science Field with at list 5 years’ experience working in areas of Business development. An advanced degree in business and/or economics is an advantage.

· Ability to quickly understand and synthesize relevant materials for a range of both broad and targeted audiences.
· Strong written and oral communication skills; demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
· Ability to present the key aspects of findings from complex projects and present the information in a way that is concise, comprehensible, and of value in decision-making to policymakers and other nontechnical audiences.
· Work directly with research teams to fully understand substantive content and contextual considerations in order to translate accurate and effective written materials for non-technical audiences and accomplish dissemination and uptake objectives.
· Ability to develop a thorough understanding of target audiences’ interests, information needs, content knowledge, and motivations to develop a quality document that resonates with them.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office especially Microsoft Excel
