Organizational Context
The position of Associate Development Officer (Coordination and Partnerships) supports coordination functions in order to ensure UNHCR’s role as in playing a ‘supportive and catalytic role’ with Ethiopia’s commimtments under the Global Compact on Refugees (GCR) and the related Comprehensive Refugee Response Framework (CRRF).
As a field-based poistion supporting cohesion between all units of the UNHCR sub-office, the position will report to the Head of Sub-Office. The incumbent will liaise with, and be further supported by, the Senior Coordinator (Comprehensive Response) based in Addis Ababa.
As with UNHCR’s support to ‘clusters’, the Associate Development Officer (Coordination and Partnerships) contributes to cross-sectoral coordination with all sections of Programme, Protection, Admin./Finance and External Relations in UNHCR, as well as a wide range of humanitarian and development parters. Moreover, the Associate Development Officer (Coordination and Partnerships) will work closely with local government sectoral specialists, local Bureaus of Fianance and Development (BoFEDs) and the Agency for Refugee and Returnee Affairs (ARRA) to ensure that coordination is locally owened and capcitated – with local response plans based on Government’s development plans and the incorporation of refugee issues into such plans.
