Purpose
The purpose is to ensure that health emergency preparedness and response in Gambella are timely and promptly supported. The deployment of health emergency consultants to Anywaa and Nuer Zonal levels will ensure UNICEF contribution and commitment guided by Core Commitments for Children in Humanitarian Action (CCC) particularly in the current context of multiple ongoing and challenging health emergencies including COVID-19 context. The consultants will provide support to Zonal Health Departments, woreda health offices, and partners in planning, coordination, implementing, and monitoring of health emergencies including the South Sudanese borders as asylum seekers are still illegally coming in the country despite the decision of border closures. Having the complexity of these humanitarian and health emergencies in the region, in addition to the current context of COVID-19 preparedness and response, its critical for UNICEF and other stakeholders to ensure that provision of health care services is continuous and that health emergencies are responded to effectively.
Specific Tasks
Under the guidance of Health emergency Officer at Gambella UNICEF field office, the consultants will perform and support the below tasks and responsibilities:
