Background
The labor market assessment which VSO Ethiopia has conducted recently has identified a list of potential employers and the readiness of potential employees in Addis Ababa and Assosa. The assessment report also indicated the need to support potential employees in various regions of the Country. In this regard a quick assessment and mapping of potential employers and employees is being carried out to inform our program with the tangible information on the ground. As part of this initiative the program has a plan to support identified vulnerable youth for skills building and employment
Scope
The program has identified vulnerable youth that will be supported through skills building and employment services. In this regard the service of the consultant is required to provide employability skills training for the 75 vulnerable youth for skills building and employment. This will be made along our new project (NRC/NORAD). Youth will be enrolled starting the third week of September. VSO Ethiopia will arrange the training venue and associated services.
As formal education and training institutions are currently closed due to COVID-19 in Ethiopia, physical enrollment of youth may not be possible. But the team will closely work with local partners to facilitate safe enrollment or consider other options such as virtual training. Hence, this support is to assure that the youth are ready to be enrolled in the forthcoming season to their preferred technical training options.
Location and Duration
The training program which will have a three days duration will be conducted in Assosa town in as soon as possible in the month of September 2020.
Reporting / Working relationship
