People in Need is a non-governmental, non-profit organization founded on the ideals of humanism, freedom, equality and solidarity. We consider human dignity and freedom to be fundamental values. The People in Need organization was established in 1992 by a group of Czech war correspondents who were no longer satisfied with merely relaying information about ongoing conflicts and began sending out aid. Job Description
WaSH and Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for Designing, planning, supervising and monitoring the construction of the Water, sanitation and hygiene infrastructures/ for Implementation of sustainable water supply system in selected kebeles of Bura, Dale and Bona Zuriya woredas of Sidama Region. The position requires supervising construction of contracted or on-force construction of water schemes, sanitations and other infrastructures using unskilled and skilled labours.
The position also requires proper management of materials, equipment and other resources under the programs and reporting periodically to supervisors. under the supervision and support of the Engineering Coordinator; administer contractual issues and deal with supplier, follow up and participate in BID process in collaboration with the Procurement department by adhering to the organizational and National law. Participate in technical assessment, proposal development and assessment for new emerging projects. Provide technical support during various manuals, construction standard and checklists preparation together with the Engineering Coordinator and making sure it is applied in the field.
Responsible to provide technical guidance on water, sanitation, and hygiene project activities and other programs where there is Infrastructure facilities to build put together and review technical designs and BoQs; and supervise constructions.
