Responsibilities and tasks:
Engage and work with R2G consortium members and partners to plan and implement pro-active influencing strategies that deliver R2G objectives, particularly on the WASH and Nutrition to end stunting.
Map out key influencers that Max Foundation Ethiopia (MFE) should engage on the WASH and Nutrition, working closely with the other team including consortium and partner staffs.
Coordinate national lobbying and influencing policy aimed at government departments (food security and WASH), networks and other relevant administrators and social stakeholders.
Deliver a range of influencing activities including events, debates, forums and undertaking publications, drafting position papers and briefings, convening policy dialogue with policymakers, social stakeholders, and others.
Represent MFE and engage with a range of key external stakeholders, including consortium members, Sector Ministries, Regional Bureaus, Woreda Offices, forums, working groups, think tank, academics, private sector, and other key advocacy audiences.
Development of policy and vision on the national lobby and co-implementation of the Right2Grow lobby strategy.
Follow key influencing processes and provide briefings and updates as required to consortium members and MFE as well as partners.
Follow the news and politics closely and proactively see opportunities for the Right2Grow alliance.
Independently carry out lobbying activities on sustainable food systems and malnutrition
Facilitate and advise MFE and consortium members on influencing strategies and activities.
Draft and communicate analysis and insight of key policy and political trends and issues for internal and external audiences.
Work with the wider team to delivery of MFE’s overall policy and campaigns strategy and organisational priorities.
Track, monitor and evaluate MFE’s influencing strategies and contribute to team planning, budgeting, and annual reporting.
