The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE), re-established by proclamation No. 1133/2019, is the constitutionally mandated body to conduct elections, organize referendum and regulate political parties in Ethiopia. NEBE is undergoing institutional reform to enhance its credibility and capacity and conduct free, impartial, and credible elections. Through the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), NEBE has contracted ABH Partners to provide human resource recruitment and management services.
Accordingly, ABH partners would like to invite applicants who meet the below requirements to apply for the position of Senior IT Support Technician.
Required number: 10 (Ten)
Reports to: ICT Team Leader
Duty station: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
Duration: 5 months with a possibility of extension
Salary: ETB 18,000 per month
Expected Start Date: Immediately after concluding the contract
Purpose of the Role
Supervise technical support staff to ensure that end users are receiving the highest level of customer service possible at all times. This includes the responsibility of managing all procedures related to the identification, prioritization, and resolution of end user technical support requests, including but not limited to, the coordination of computer service desk functions, software and hardware troubleshooting, and connectivity.
Major Responsibilities
· Knowledge of a wide range of computer software, including word processing and desktop publishing, databases and spread sheets, accounting programs, PowerPoint®, and use of the Internet.
· Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
· Operation of popular software packages, utility programs, and service aids.
· Basic, routine, and advanced computer and/or telecom hardware configurations and capabilities.
· A wide variety of computer software, hardware and peripherals.
· Basic, routine, and advanced LAN systems.
· Computer security systems, password, and file protection protocol.
· Training design and techniques.
· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information system, Management information system or related field
· 4 years of relevant experience.
· Demonstrated professional experience and knowledge as a supervisor.
· Fluency in English required.
· Excellent supervision and leadership skills.
· Excellent verbal communication skills.
· Troubleshoot basic, routine, and advanced computer operations and software problems.
· Communicate basic, routine, and advanced technical information clearly and concisely both written and orally.
· Ability to work independently and as a member of the IT team
· Ability to explain technical material to less technically proficient users.
· Monitoring/Assessing performance of self and other individuals.
· Resolve conflicts and sets expectations for customer service
· Critical Thinking, using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
