Electric and Instrument Technician - Kessem/Afar

We manufacture and distribute our flagship brands, Super Eagle and Crystal that are renowned for their great taste and quality.  Our new leading edge manufacturing and bottling facility is located in Cha Cha. 

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Under the direction of Maintenance Supervisor/shift Engineer or production Supervisor; the Electric and instrument Technician has the duty and responsibility to undertake installation, repair, inspection, cleaning of electrical and instrument apparatus.

DESCRIPTION OF SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Implements and maintains the Quality Management System and continual strive for improvement;
• Ensures all activities function within the objective to meet and exceed customer needs and expectations;
• Adheres to and be guided with the collective labor agreement, internal regulations and other relevant statutory instructions and orders;
• Takes direct responsibility of use, proper handling, control, and protection of   company property or any other material at his disposal;
• Committed to prevention of environmental pollution and create safe and       healthy working condition;  
• Undertakes the installation, repairs and maintenance of electrical and instrument machinery and equipment requiring a very high degree of accuracy, care and precision’s. by maintaining acceptable standard  of electrical and instrument work;
• Performs repairs and maintenance of Electric/instruments and equipment requiring major repairs. , tests with different instruments and identifies the problems and its root cause;
• Reports on any findings and irregularities to superior for preventive repair or maintenance work;
•  Request and obtains the necessary tools and materials needed for the given repair/maintenance work ;
• Cuts off power supply before starting any repair /maintenance work, informing superior as well as all those likely to be affected by the action;
• Informs superior if repair /maintenance work of such a serious nature as to take long repair time and recommends replacement of the defective set to minimize down time
• Takes the defective units to electrical/Instrument work shop for proper repair and maintenance;
• Reconditions electricity supply lines and ensures proper insulation of all electrical transmission wires;
• Participates in any emergency repairs; annual maintenance;
• Prepares daily activity reports and submits to the maintenance supervisor;
• Receives and handles properly the shift consumable spares tool box;
• Accepts and integrates safety rules and guide lines to his work;
• Committed to prevention of environmental pollution and create safe and healthy working condition;
• Performs others related tasks as required.

EDUCATION.  Level II or equivalent grade complete in Industrial Electric and instrument Stream
