Promoting accession to the 1951 Convention relating to the Status of Refugees and its 1967 Protocol, to the 1954 Convention relating to the Status of Stateless Persons and to the 1961 Convention on the Reduction of Statelessness. In 1999, UNHCR launched a campaign to promote accession to the 1951 Convention that culminated on its 50th anniversary in July 2001 and the Ministerial Meeting of States Parties to the 1951 Convention on 12 and 13 December 2001.
Assisting States to enact or revise national refugee legislation, including administrative instructions and operational guidelines, and to implement national refugee status determination procedures.
Strengthening relevant administrative and judicial institutions, training staff of government and non-governmental agencies, and liaising with relevant human rights bodies.
Responsabilités
Under the supervision of the Community Based Protection Officer, the intern will undertake the following:
Assist in the implementation/ operationalization of the National CBP Strategy, National GBV Strategy and National Child Protection Strategy.
Update the PSEA compliance checklist, and quarterly PSEA reports to the regional office, based on the data received from the field and sub-offices.
Assist in following up on the implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP) for GBV prevention, risk mitigation and response mainstreaming in different sectors
Assist in the collection and compilation of the quarterly GBVIMS data and trend analysis reports
Collect data on the feedback and response mechanisms from the field offices, analyze the collected data, and draft an overview of the existing feedback and response mechanisms in the Ethiopia operation.
Conduct feedback interviews with refugees on the Digital Request and Complaint System (DRCS).
Provided assistance to the team, mainly by participating in the various team meetings and recording minutes, and action points,
Assist in establishing relationships with the national community-based structure
Assist in establishing community-based complaints mechanisms (CBCM) for the prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse in Addis Ababa and the field offices as needed.
Serve as rapporteur during the CP/ GBV meeting
Provide inputs for project proposals.
Perform other duties as required.

Eligibility
Be a recent graduate (within one year of completion of their studies or current & have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies) in social sciences or Law.
