Job Purpose
Under the direct supervision of the Finance Manager, a Finance Supervisor is responsible to coordinate and direct all financial accounting activities, the analysis of ledger balances and the preparation of financial statements.
Duties & Responsibilities
1 | Organize, direct, coordinate and control ABIG financial accounting activities. |
2 | Coordinate the operations of ABIG accounts, ensure the timely preparation of financial statement and reports, and the proper closing of accounts. |
3 | Formulate and develop accounting policies and procedures. |
4 | Direct the planning, installation and maintenance of proper accounting systems such as charts of account, coding, scheduling and accounting control. |
5 | Authorize payments and counter signs cheque and sign vouchers, transactions, correspondence and other documents in accordance with ABIG procedures and delegated authority. |
6 | Analyze and evaluate ABIG financial accounting methods with the aim of promoting efficiency. |
7 | Follow up and ensure that entries for adjustments, closing of accounts, posting and reconciliation of ledgers, aging of accounts, accruals and corrections are timely prepared. |
8 | Direct the preparation of financial statements such as balance sheet, income statement and fund flow statement; certify and insure correctness. |
9 | Ensure that accounting documents are received from factory, marketing and hospital and reconciled and consolidated on time. |
10 | Monitor and control the orderly clearance of payables and receivables; presents recommendation for the write off of unclaimed liability and bad debts. |
11 | Ensure that ABIG accounting policies and procedures are properly implemented and adhered to by subordinates. |
12 | Monitor expenditures and the conduct of financial investigations on irregularities disclosed; ensures that rectifications and corrective measures are taken. |
13 | Arrange for and submit ABIG accounting records for audit. |
14 | Ensure that periodic reconciliation of bank accounts are undertaken and schedule of accounts prepared. |
16 | Make periodic review of books of account to ensure that existing accounting procedures conform to established standards. |
17 | Ensure the proper maintenance, upkeep and safe custody of all accounting records. |
18 | Supervise and evaluate the performance of the subordinates. |
19 | Follow up and ensure that entries for adjustments, closing of accounts, posting and reconciliation of ledgers, aging of accounts, accruals and corrections are timely prepared; |
20 | Perform other duties as assigned. |
Required Knowledge
§ BA Degree in Accounting & Finance
Experience
§ Minimum 5 years of relevant experience; preferably FMCG, Merchandizing and Import Export company experience
