II. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Through the Nespresso AAA project, TechnoServe has supported over 200 washed coffee processors in Sidama and Oromia regions to sustainably produce coffee that meets the AAA standards. Through this project, TechnoServe aims to support farmers, cooperatives, and private coffee producers to-
1) Adopt best practices in coffee cultivation to enhance the supply of the highest quality coffee,
2) Support farmers and wet mill clients to become more environmentally and socially responsible by adopting sustainable coffee production methods,
3) Support farmers and wet mill clients to improve productivity and implement cost reduction initiatives to increase their net income
III. Position description:
The intern will support the implementation of TechnoServe’s Nespresso Project activities at cooperative and private wet mills in Nespresso’s operating areas of Sidama and Ormia –West Guji zone project areas.
IV. Duties and Responsibilities
INTERN- Wet Mill Advisors are responsible to support the implementation of Nespresso Project activities at cooperative and private wet mills to follow up and implement the day to day project activities at the grass-root level including the following duties & responsibilities: -
V. Required Skills & Experience:
· Willingness to be based in assigned remote locations in Sidama and willingness to spend significant time in rural areas;
· Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field – Business Management, Economics, Plant Science, Horticulture, Crop Science, Agriculture, etc.
· Interpersonal and cross-cultural skills as well as problem-solving skills;
· Planning skills and working to strict time guidelines;
· Fluency in Amharic and Sidamigna for Sidama region and
· Fluency in Amharic and Afan Oromo for Oromia region
· English oral & written presentation skills;
· Willingness to have a motorcycle driving license and able to drive
· Computer literacy, including Word and Excel
VI. Preferred Skills:
· Familiarity with Sidama area for Sidama project areas Intern and Bule Hora, Guji areas for Oromia Bule Hora intern.
· Experience working with Agriculture extension-related duties.
