About the Country Program in Ethiopia
Action Against Hunger has been operational in Ethiopia since 1984 responding to both chronic and acute needs through a multi-sectoral strategy where nutrition, Food Security and Livelihoods, WASH, and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support activities are integrated to have a meaningful impact on people’s resilience. Action Against Hunger currently operates in 5 different regions (Oromia, Somali, Amhara, Benishangul Gumuz, and Gambella) with a portfolio of 20m USD/year of emergency, resilience building, research, and innovation programs. We have a country team of around 600 staff in 17 regional and satellite offices. Our main donors in Ethiopia in 2020/2021 are BHA, ECHO, Europaid, UNHCR, UNICEF, GFFO, BPRM, SIDA, EHF, WFP, CIAA, and others.
Summary of position
This post aims to strengthen the Food Security, cash-based programming, and DRR programs throughout the country, providing technical support and capacity building to programs and assisting in the development of national food security and DRR strategy. This post works closely with both the FSL head of the department and Program Managers at the field level.

Essential job duties
Assist the FSL HoD with program coordination and reporting
Provide technical support to the field programs:
Establish training and skills development for Action Against Hunger team
Assume activities in absence of the FSL-HOD

Support program managers in Budget follow up regularly and follow the utilization of allocated budget in a timely manner to ensure accurate and effective use of funds in compliance with Action Against Hunger and donor regulations.

Required Qualifications and Professional Experience
Master’s or Bachelor Degree in Relevant field (Disaster Risk Management, Food Security, Development Studies and others), with a minimum of five years of experience in emergency response, project implementation, and designing. Experience with international NGOs working environment.
