PURPOSE OF ROLE
The Project Director will lead the development and implementation of a three year consortium project supporting safer surgery in Ethiopia. The role includes the management and coordination of all consortium activities, including those delivered by consortium partners (national professional associations and international NGOs), and representation to and coordination with the Federal Ministry of Health (FMoH).
This position requires significant coordination and leadership skills, broad general and technical knowledge, experience in global health system strengthening, and skills to ensure coherence and consistency in delivering a high quality, high impact program of work.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Project Director will have ultimate responsibility for the programmatic delivery and integrity of the project, ensuring timely and effective implementation, meeting key milestones, liaising and communicating with collaborative partners and key stakeholders, and overseeing all monitoring, evaluation and compliance-related activities. They will be expected to identify issues and risks related to program implementation in a timely manner, and suggest appropriate program adjustments. This individual shall act as the key liaison between the funder and all other counterparts and implementing partners involved with the program, including the FMoH.
