Launched in February 2019, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) funded Feteh (Justice) Activity in Ethiopia provides flexible technical assistance response to its Ethiopian partners in the process of legal and judicial reform. Feteh’s partners include the Federal and Regional Attorney General’s Offices; the Federal and Regional Supreme Courts; the House of Peoples’ Representatives; constitutionally mandated democratic and human rights institutions such as the Ethiopian Human Rights Commission, the Ethiopian Institution of the Ombudsman and the Public Defender’s Office; civil society organizations, legal and academic institutions, and the media.
General Description of Position
The Program Support team, which focuses on Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) and Communication and Public Outreach, implements several activities to ensure the accountability and visibility of the Feteh Activity. It includes the collection of data and generation of evidence for tracking project accomplishment as well as ensuring the visibility of project activities through the use of communication tools/materials and organization of events.
As part of this team, the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) and Communication Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Feteh Program Support team, in both Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) and the Communications and Public Outreach activities.
Specific Tasks and Responsibilities
The M&E and Communication Assistant will undertake work in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for Millennium DPI in support of the Feteh (Justice) Activity pursuant to Millennium DPI’s contract with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Under the direct supervision of the Civil Society and Program Support Team Leader and collaborating jointly with the MEL Coordinator and the Communications and Public Outreach Coordinator, the M&E and Communication Assistant shall assume the following specific responsibilities for the length of his/her contract with Millennium DPI:
