Background:
The International Rescue Committee, one of the world’s largest humanitarian international NGOs, provides relief, rehabilitation and development support to vulnerable people and communities over 30 countries. We began work in Ethiopia in 2000 in response to severe drought in Ethiopia’s Somali region and are currently providing assistance to Ethiopians and refugees in six regions in Ethiopia, implementing emergency and development programs in health, water and sanitation, economic recovery and development (ERD), women’s protection and empowerment, education, child protection, and multi-sectoral emergency response.
Scope
The Emergency Response Manager (HP) will be engaged in emergency assessment, emergency response planning and report writing, and emergency response set up, monitoring and post-intervention assessment, facilitating training and coordination and representation at emergency ES/NFI cluster and Cash technical working group in the region. She/he is also encouraged to assist in Cash Transfer programming and Beneficiary Feedback mechanism (BFM) initiatives and is encouraged to spend over 50% in the field and deployments assignments in various regions in Ethiopia as needed. He/She reports to the Addis ERR Coordinator and works closely with the field team and Addis-based Emergency Response Team.
